Bolton Conservation Commission Approves Test Well Near Wetland at 580 Main Street

BOLTON — February 18, 2021 — Bolton Conservation Commission unanimously approved a test well installation near wetland boundaries at 580 Main Street on February 18. The board issued a negative three determination under the town's wetland bylaw for the six-inch casing well proposed by Phil Cordero of Allen and Major Associates, who is representing an unidentified applicant evaluating the parcel's water supply capacity. The commission's 4-0 vote came with conditions requiring erosion barriers to be installed before drilling begins, all slurry to be contained and later revegetated, and the drill location to be shifted approximately 8 to 10 feet northward from its proposed position — which sits 28 feet from delineated bordering vegetated wetland. The board also directed Bolton Youth Lacrosse representative Jason Resey to relocate a corrugated drainage pipe at Tower Field that was found discharging directly into a wetland, with a temporary cutback to be completed before spring thaw and full relocation to the wood line — at least 25 feet from the water — to follow in March.
