Conservation Commission authorizes Taking Back Nature Program

Conservation Commission · Meeting of August 4, 2026

BOLTON — Conservation Commission launches Taking Back Nature Program for young children. The commission voted unanimously 4-0 to authorize the Conservation Agent to conduct the program, a monthly outdoor education offering for children under age 5 at Bolton conservation properties. The Conservation Agent is exploring grant funding opportunities to support the initiative.

The commission also voted 3-1 to authorize comments on new DEP Regulations 1.5 revisions, with Commissioner Scott Geer dissenting because he wanted to review the final letter first. The commission tabled consideration of a Japanese Knotweed herbicide treatment proposal at 220 Berlin Road pending a written narrative.
