Committee meets with new Police Chief on traffic safety
Public Ways Safety Committee · Meeting of June 10, 2026
Bolton Public Ways Safety Committee meets with newly appointed Police Chief on traffic safety initiatives. Chief Donald Murphy discussed Route 117 as the town's top traffic safety concern and acknowledged heavy traffic entering and exiting the Alta Nashoba Valley apartment complex. The Chief stated that pole-mounted radar speed signs are more effective and cost-efficient than solar trailer signs and will investigate a school speed zone at the high school.
Two NRHS students raised concerns about sidewalk gaps around the high school, which the Committee noted aligns with its ongoing advocacy for townwide sidewalk development.
