Select Board OKs Election Warrant, Liquor License
Select Board · Meeting of September 24, 2026
Bolton's pavement score has dropped to 68 out of 100 since 2020, with an $8.3 million repair backlog. DPW Director Randy Hagelin told the Select Board that modeling shows even $1 million a year in paving spending over five years would still drop the townwide score to 57, and holding it steady at 68.32 would cost $15.8 million over five years. "If you add up all of the cost of all of the roads in town, it exceeds the values of most buildings," Hagelin said.
The board voted 3-0 on four items: an all-alcoholic license for Bolton Bean, Inc. at 626 Main Street, the warrant for the November 3 state election, early voting hours starting October 17, and payroll warrant W27-05. A Council on Aging lease renewal raising rent from $421 to $463 a month was held pending a red-lined draft. A continued Section 15 liquor license hearing, set for October 8, remains stalled without a signed purchase-and-sale agreement or confirmed Bolton location.
