Three Select Boards commit to ongoing fiscal coordination
Tri-Town · Meeting of January 6, 2026
BOLTON — Three Select Boards meet to coordinate fiscal planning around Nashoba Regional School District assessments. Bolton Select Board Chair Kate Buyuk convened the joint meeting of Bolton, Lancaster, and Stow boards to improve communication on revenue constraints and fiscal priorities. Bolton, which recently passed a 1.9 million dollar override, identified education expenses as twice as sensitive to cost variations as other budget areas, while Lancaster reported that 68 percent of its tax base supports schools.
The three boards agreed to reconvene in October 2026 to align municipal budgeting for fiscal year 2028, with Superintendent Kirk Downing to present initial budget-workshop projections at a January 14 meeting.
