Planning Board holds bylaw review for Town Meeting, declines self-storage proposal

Planning Board · Meeting of February 25, 2026

BOLTON — Planning Board reviews zoning amendments ahead of Town Meeting, rejects self-storage proposal. The Board declined to add self-storage to the limited business zoning district, determining the industrial district more appropriate despite developer interest in the former Colonial Candies site on Sugar Road. Town Planner Pamela Harding presented draft revisions to sections on driveways, home occupations, and major residential development for Board consideration.

The Board voted 5-0 to approve prior meeting minutes and deferred action on extending the Business Zoning District on Main Street, requesting more study of traffic and land use implications before considering changes for this year.
