Board of Health OKs septic system variance for Still River Road

Board of Health · Meeting of January 27, 2026

Bolton Board of Health unanimously approves septic system variances at 91 Still River Road. The variances, approved on motion by Chair Chris Rogers and seconded by Member Christopher Slade, reduce the required property-line setback from 15 feet to 11 feet and permit approval based on a single soil test hole. Health Agent Bill Brookings noted that the property's existing well radius constrains available land for the septic installation.

In related business, the Board reported successful installation of a new landfill monitoring well at 170 feet depth but flagged likely budget shortfalls for required testing and anticipated repeated requests to the Advisory Committee for additional funding.
