Board of Health approves septic variance; plans enforcement letters

Board of Health · Meeting of May 26, 2026

BOLTON — The Board of Health approves septic tank offset variance at Randall Road. Health Agent Bill Brookings presented an as-built plan showing the tank and pump chamber ended up only 6 feet 7 inches from a crawl space bump-out due to ledge, falling short of the required 10-foot offset. Board members approved the reduced offset as permissible for an upgrade to an existing system, with Chair Chris Rogers recused due to a property conflict.

The board emphasized that state DEP has historically required removal of even minor structures infringing on protected water-supply Zone 1 areas.
